    Hi there,

I recently installed MSM on one of my sites and ran into some problems.
When I want to edit- or publish a new entry some things go wrong:

    1) The tab ‘Publish’ is not selected.
    2) All costume fields have disappeared.

I’ve read this thread - cause I also updated from 2.1 to 2.1.3.

I have similar problems cause the issue is just happening with one channel which is using the Channel images- and the Freeform addon (I updated them to the latest version).

However, everything seemed to work fine before I started to use MSN. Next to that: the 2nd site (which is using some duplicates) is working fine.

I made a backup of my database before updating - so maybe there’s a way to go back to just one site - and start the whole process with MSM again. I just desperately need a solution, cause my client is getting angry.

    Thanks!
    Jef

    Hi, Jefinho.

Did you upgrade *all* your third party add-ons?

Let’s take a look at your index.php settings for your secondary site. What changes did you make?

Are you using a different /themes folder?

    Hi Sue,
Yes, I’ve upgraded all third party add-ons:
Low Replace, Channel Images, Freeform, ImageSizer.

I’ve changed the following to the index.php:

    $system_path = '../../firstWebsite.nl/public_html/system';

    and:

    $assign_to_config['site_name'] = 'nameOf2ndSite';

No, I do not use a different themes folder.

The strange thing is that the front-end is just working fine, however, I cannot edit the custom fields in the back-end of one specific channel.

Is it save to remove the 2nd site? I have a back-up of the database from before I started using MSM. Maybe this will help to get the first site running normally again.

Of course this could be just I temporary solution, cause I need MSM. I promised my client..
I hope you can help me.

    Thanks,
    Jef

So I removed the 2nd website but this doesn’t solve the problem.

When I want to edit an entry of this specific channel the Publish tab is not selected.
The title, url title and the category fields are visible. The costume fields have disappeared.
I can find them back by clicking on ‘show toolbar’. However, I cannot edit them.

Somehow I have the feeling it has to do with the update (2.1 to 2.1.3). What makes me wonder is that the 2nd site didn’t have any problems using the same system / plugins.

Another problem arises when I try to edit this specific channel. The main menu “content | design | add-ons | etc” isn’t working anymore. I can click on the buttons, but the sub-menu isn’t appearing. Javascript issue? Yes, I upgraded the theme files.

    Any advise?

Too bad nobody could help me out…

I still have no idea what exactly went wrong, but after updating to 2.1.3 and using MSM one specific channel really gave me problems.
I solved to problem by creating a new Channel/Custom fields, and replaced the problem-channel.

Hi, Jefinho. Your system path looks off to me.

Where physically is your second sit located? Is it in a subfolder of the same site?
