I have a client that wants a list of the projects they have worked on (listed by clients name) on their home page. They want this list to be ordered by how they perceive the importance of the client, i.e Sony, Coca Cola at the top of the list.

I can’t think of the best way to order this list. Is there a way you can let the client give a preference to entries that isn’t date/time related etc? More on how they value the importance of the client as oppose to just ‘featured’ etc. Or even a way for them, from the back-end, to have control over the order of the list? Something Similar to Structure would be good (drag/dop), but these would be classed as ‘listings’ so not immediately achievable in Structure, unless I’m missing something.

The client suggested a star rating system but I think that sounds overly complicated.

This addon might be useful - http://loweblog.com/software/low-reorder/

I recently used it on a site that had very similar needs and it works a treat 😊

    Thanks for the fast reply!

    That almost looks too perfect.

So I’m guessing by that third screenshot that my client could have drag/drop control over the portfolio entries on the home page and if I wanted to have a different way of ordering that list somewhere else on the site that would be possible too?

Do you know if it works with structure?

Yes you’d literally drag n drop the entries list in whatever order you wanted.

I’m not sure if you can do multiple versions of the same list with different sort orders on different pages, or whether it works with structure, I suggest getting in touch with the addon Author as he’ll be able to answer better than I can 😊
