Member Photo - Server Path to Photo Folder - External Server

    I have a need to house the member photo locations on a CDN that resides on a separate server than the EE2 install. I have tried using UNC paths, mapped folder paths from the EE2 install server, and have had no luck with either. I verified the permissions were correct on both, but I still get nothing.

    If I try to revers slash, they still get auto corrected when EE saves the paths to forward and I get errors like:

    The path you submitted is not valid.
    Member Photo Path: Y:/images/member_photos/

    (Where Y == the local mapping to the other server on the network)

    Both servers are on the same network. Does anyone know how this can be done? It is throwing a kink in things right now on any forward motion in development and design for these particular needs.

    Thanks,

    The same settings in the file management allow for this.

    Brian,

    Try adding it to your config.php file instead as an override

    $config['photo_url'] = 'http://example.com/images/member_photos/';
    $config['photo_path'] = 'Y:/images/member_photos/';

    John,

    Thanks for the help. I tried that, but got the following:

    An Error Was Encountered
    image_assignment_error

    *** EDIT ***

    Scratch that John… It appears to be a permissions issue on our end. I am having them look into it now.

    Thanks for the help.
