This question is related to resolved thread: Pages Module Define URL Length.

Now that we can define a URL length, the client has many URL’s that contain a “?” in them. All other characters work, but when a question mark is in the url, the error message “The URI you submitted has disallowed characters” shows up.

Is there a setting somewhere that will allow this?

    Thanks in advance ...

    Look inside your system/expressionengine/config/config.php
There is a config variable down the page for Allowed URL Characters

That might work for you if you add the query string in there
