We just purchased MSM and installed the 3 files that were in the “EE_MSM_1.x” folder; however, when I set “Enable Multiple Site Manager” to “yes” it never saves- I get a “Preferences Updated” message at the top of the page, but the “no” radio button is selected, and the “sites” tab never appears.

    Notes:
~We also purchased the EE 2.x Commercial License Update
~We are running EE version 1.6.9

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi, Scott.

Can you double check your config.php to see if it is still writable.

How long ago did you get the MSM? You may need to upgrade to 1.7.0 to match up with the version of MSM you’re running. They work in tandem. Also, if you have the forum, you’ll need to make sure you’re using the most recent version of it as well.

Thanks, Sue- it was the config.php file, which I updated manually.

Does the config.php file need to be writable for additional system updates? In other words, will any more updates to the file be necessary? (I think we’ve gone for months with it being the way it is.)

Hi ssebner, yes, config.php needs to be writable at all times. Is everything still working for you?

Everything appears to be working smoothly, and I will set the config.php file to writable- thanks again for your assistance!
