    Hello, I’ve used this “hack”:
    http://expressionengine.com/wiki/SQL_Generated_Dropdown_List_Fields/
in the past to add custom field drop down lists to weblog entries in EE 1.7 and below.

I’m wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on how to accomplish this is EE 2.

    Thanks

Welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums, pimwheeladesignstudio. We appreciate your purchase of EE, and hope you’re enjoying it.

Since you’re new to the EE forums, have you seen EEWiki:// How to Post a Support Request?

That article was written quite a while back before the ability to create custom fields. This has changed quite a bit, can you share what kind of custom field you’re looking for? There may already be one out there. Or if there isn’t, this would be more of a CodeShare Corner kind of question..

    Hi sue

I have the same problem I’ve used this hack on 1.7 and below

Now im on 2.1.3 Build: 20101220 and I need something like this hack

I have a non-exp table in my database and I want to access this table data to build a dropdown list for a custom member field.

Im looking for something but I found nothing

    Thanks

    Hi GKenny,

We can’t support hacks, but I’ll move this over to Community Help to see if there are any other suggestions, or perhaps an add-on that might help.
