    Hi,

I am new to expressionengine2 and I am having installation problems.

The images does not appear on the website cerltt.biz or the control panel. I did upload the images using binary but it still does not show.

    Please help.

Welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums, Caribbean E-Research Limited..

We appreciate your business, and hope you’re liking using EE.

Since you’re new to the EE forums, have you seen EEWiki:// How to Post a Support Request?

You didn’t mention what program you used for FTP - but I’d re-upload the /themes folder using something like FileZilla, which is a cross platform FTP/sFTP free program. You don’t have to set anything special, it just works when uploading.

    Does that help?

    Hi,

I used Filezilla to upload the files. I adjusted the “transfer type” as instructed by the ee user guide (http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/installation.html) but there seems to be some bugs when the adjustments are being made.

However, I changed the transfer type to “auto” and reloaded the /themes file which solved the cpanel images issue. As for the demo website template “agile” (/themes/site_themes) file I had to reload it separately for the images to be displayed on the website.

I was still having one more image problem in the cpanel. I was unable to select an avatar image (An Error Was Encountered Unable to locate the desired avatars) although I reloaded the /images/avatars folder again and again.

I finally decided to update Filezilla to 3.4.0-beta1 and upload all files (images, themes, system and index.php) using “transfer type:auto” only. Now all my problems are solved.

    Thanks for the advise.

Glad things are working again.. I normally don’t fiddle with FileZilla, it doesn’t normally have problems uploading that way.

Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
