I’m very new to the EE community and built my first EE site. I’m also pretty new to CSS because most of my other sites were built with Flash. I’m learning everyday.
As frustrating as it was in the beginning compiling a set of “free” EE add-ons to accomplish my design goals, I can see the true benefit and flexibility of EE. I didn’t realize the “base” was going to missing some key feature. I won’t elaborate… plenty of other posts get into that.
The site is heavily media driven, so I would like some responses on load times. I also call a lot of EE parsing, so I hope my optimizing is working. I noticed that caching the pages every 30min has helped. Again I’m still learning and have some nasty IE7 bugs that I still need to resolve with some hacks I assume.
I did not use any CSS frameworks because I really wanted to learn css better. My next project will likely revolve around a framework, but I can’t decide on one. My biggest concern is taking care of Cross-Browser support. That’s been time consuming.
Best Regards! Thanks to all during my (continued) learning phase and all the great support on the forums.
