Hiya. I am wondering how I can change the date format in the backend? Right now I have set the localisation settings as in the attached file. This changes the way the time is displayed, but not the date. Here in Holland we have d - m - y , not y - m - d. Thanks!

    Hi, Sanity11.

I don’t know if you are aware of this or not, but each time you bump a thread, you’re put back in the queue, but in the bottom of the list. We work in a first in, first out fashion.

I haven’t tried - but there is a Dutch language pack for EE2. Have you considered using that?

    Hi Sue,

I am using the Dutch language pack, and have my user account set to Dutch, but it doesn’t maken any difference.

    Sanity11,

I don’t believe a config variable exists for this. That localization setting you refer to is just for the time format as you say. It would make a great feature request though

This used to work in EE 1 (I’m 99% sure). Please add in an update. These are the things clients see and think are a really easy fix for us to do.
I get suspicious looks when I see it’s something we can’t do!

    Hi Elliot,

I just tested this in my 2.3.1 install and it is working as expected. If you change admin > localization settings > default time formatting that will only change it for new users. To change your personal time settings click my account in the top right and the localization settings and change it there.

    Does this work for you?

Thanks Sean. It does work though the members localization settings. I’ve tested and can confirm the same.
I must have registered the admins when EE was set-up as the default US settings. Then changing it site wide doesn’t alter a members individual settings (and that’s good, exactly as it should work).

As a feature request it might be handy to override an individuals settings at a member group level. If you’ve got a lot of members to change this could be done via SQL though.

Elliot, glad I could help. That would make a good Feature Request - I recommend that you submit one there. I’m going to close out this thread, but feel free to post again when you have more questions.
