I’m finding that if i switch sites using the msm in the CP this often prevents me from logging out of the front end of either website. Why is this?
I get the logging out message, but i am returned to the sites homepage still logged in.
running latest EE1.7 build.

Hi, Joobs.
Double check that you aren’t mixing and matching the www and non-www versions of your site. You may be deleting only some of the cookies. I tend to use Firefox and delete all site based cookies if I run into the issue. Or you can try adding a cookie domain setting. Sometimes that’s all you need.

I ran into the same problem and Sue mentioned the solution that worked for me.
In your 1.7 build, navigate to: Admin > System Preferences > Cookie Settings
Once there, define your cookie domain as such: .domainname.com (notice the “.” at the beginning. Use the “.” so that both http://www.domainname.com and domainname.com have the same cookies).
