{meta_refresh} is incorrect. Where is it getting its path from?

    Hi all. New client with two sites - staging and live. They have a user user message screen that is auto-redirecting back to the previous server. the new server is live.server.com. the old is staging.server.com.

    Here’s the meta refresh when I comment it out:

    <meta http-equiv=‘refresh’ content=‘1; url=http://staging.server.com/index.php?/fan-favorite/thank-you’>

    How can i ensure that my {meta-refresh} is correct? I’ve checked the usual suspects - preferences for the site, each weblog, making sure it isn’t hard-coded in the user message specialty template. Is there a .php config file that needs to be updated?

    I’m not sure how the client is moving files from one server to the next….

    thanks!

    Hi, Julie.

    Is there an actual meta refresh line in the templates, or are you wanting to know all the places the client may have stored the value of the site name?

    Did you comb through the /system/config.php file?

    Indeed, there is a {meta-refresh} tag in the template. The meta refresh spits out the line I listed above. As you can see, the server is incorrect. I want to be able to help my client track down the problem, but I’ve never seen this before. I can ask them to send me the config.php file if you think that’s where it is stored. I don’t have FTP access to the server, sadly…

    I had assumed that the {meta_refresh} would be basing its URI structures based on the system site_url, but it appears I’m wrong! Do you know how {meta_refresh} is generated?

    No real idea - but if I were you, I’d invest in a copy of Deeploy Helper which should help. I suspect part of the problem may be in the config.php file, but cp_url is the only thing that’s in there by default.

    i’ll ask for a copy of config.php. I’m not sure if they’re “deploying” per se. I’m about 2 hours in with this client at this point so I know nearly as much as what’s listed here. I wonder if anyone else has ever seen anything like this before???

    The config file looks normal, and the cp_url is correct. I’ve cleared the cache via the CP and manually via FTP (which I now have). Nothing doin… We’re getting Deeploy Helper installed now, but looking at what you can change with Deeploy Helper, we have changed everything there…

    Thanks, Sue. To see the issue - please go to /index.php/events/ and click the “vote now” button. You will see that the confirmation/thanks message goes to staging.

    Further developments… We did a search of every EE DB table for “staging” and were unable to find any occurrences. We have cleared the cache via the CP and on the FTP server. Thanks for looking into this for us!

    The url to your themes folder and your control panel index page are using an ip address. Please swap out the ip address for the address of your EH account and try again.

    yes - I noticed that. The IP address is correct, although I’ve changed those entries to the address and still no luck. I’ve cleared the cache again.

    Also - let’s have you upgrade the site to 1.7.0 - when you’re on EngineHosting, they require you to be on the latest version, which is 1.7.0 for this branch of EE.
