I have a simple blog running on Version 2.1.3 Build 20101220 using MSM.

Everything has been running fine up to now and the Home Page loads fine but now I’ve added my first entry the permalinks are just returning 404’s

This is the template manager set up currently

    site (index)
    includes (all include files)
    mix(index)

    This is the permalink

    <a href="http://{title_permalink="></a>

*it’s editied that for some reason but it’s “title _ permalink = “mix”*

It returns the right URL but just shows a 404

    http://www.website.com/mix/article

I’m wondering if it’s something to do with the MSM, it hasn’t been running smoothly from the start. I frequently get errors when I try and switch between sites in the CP.

Hi, Deeper. Thanks for posting your version info - we appreciate it. 😊

Looking at your URL structure, it appears you’re trying to remove index.php via an .htaccess file.

    Can you try the following:

    http://www.website.com/index.php/mix/article - does *that* work?

Or if that doesn’t, what about http://website.com/index.php?/mix/article ??

    What’s inside the mix/article template?

Hi Sue, thanks for the help.

Yep, index.php is getting removed by an .htaccess file I’ve got at the root.

Going to this domain does work

    http://www.website.com/index.php/mix/article

Still not sure what to do now?

Unfortunately we can’t directly support removing index.php using an .htaccess file.

We do have an extensive troubleshooting article at: EEWiki:// Remove index.php from URLs

Or other members can assist. Moving to the CodeShare Corner for additional community support.
