We currently have a client on EE 1.6.8 and we are trying to comes up with compelling reasons for them to upgrade to EE2. Does anyone happen to have any?
Also, this would be the first upgrade for us so it’s a bit of an experiment. Does anyone have any issues we should be aware of.

Quite a few actually…
Ongoing support. At some point Ellislab will no longer suppor 1.x.
Add-ons. Add-on developers will eventually quit updating their 1.x stuff if they haven’t already.
Easier upgrading. Generally the farther you fall behind in upgrading your system the harder it is to upgrade. Changes pile on to each other over time.
