Setting up blog on subdomain then moving to subfolder at later stage when full site is built on domain (to replace old site on domain).

I have a client who wants me to build them a blog, and later down the track build them a full website. Their current website is hosted with a different agency, so my plan is to setup a sub-domain blog.clientsite.com and then later when I redesign their website on clientsite.com move the blog into clientsite.com/blog for better search engine results.

I am new to expression engine. Can anyone see any potential pitfalls or things I need to look out for with doing this? Will it be relatively simple to do?

    Thanks

    Hi, Stephanie.

Quick question - is this existing site using .php or is it strictly HTML? Either way, you can still install EE in the root of the site, and work with it that way. If the client is using .html, you’ll create a template group called blog, and use that to hold the blog. If they are using .php, it’s a bit more work, but still doable.

    Does that help?
