Not too long ago I took over the web developer position and have been trying to get everything migrated into EE. The site has various pages that are still static, one of which is the home page for the entire site. I have a template that is set as the master site default page and to be safe until I get anything built for it, I simply copied the rendered html from the existing page and pasted it into that template.

When I hit the template via http://www.domain.com/index.php, everything renders fine. However, if I place a response.redirect in the default.aspx page pointing to this page or move the index.php up to the top priority of the default document list, the server freezes up and the site fails all together when i try to hit http://www.domain.com. The only thing that fixes it is moving the default.aspx page back to the top priority or removing the redirect. (Depending on which was done)

The rest of the site is operating fine, both static and EE pages. The other domains running in EE are running okay. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this? Neither myself nor my IS team has a solution. Maintaining the landing page is a concern of mine for the marketers to be able to adjust on a regular basis. This definitely halts that.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Brian,

Ok its obvious you are on a Windows box 😊 Can you tell us anything else about your set-up please? Does default.aspx still need to be there?

    Thanks for the response John.

My IS team is going to try and replicate the issue on another set of servers to track the issue a bit further. I will update as soon as I find something out.
