    Hiya,

Don’t know if it’s just me or not but it used to be that in ExpressionEngine 1.x if you edited a template in say your fifth template group down the list then if you updated the template and went back to the template editor it would remember which group you were in and have it already selected.

Seems now the only way that works is if you press the Update and Finished button in the template whereas you used to be able to update the template (actually you didn’t even need to do that - you could just visit the template) and if you were to click on Templates you would be taken back to the template editor and the group you were just in editing.

Any chance that it does do that still but perhaps I’m missing something somewhere and if not then just wondering why that was taken out?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Mark,
The only way that it will work like that is as you say, if you click Update & Finished. Update obviously won’t as it keeps you on same page.

The equivalent of what you mention is if you click the Template Manager link and no that is not a feature of EE2.x. You could always just use the browser’s back button as I do if you are quickly flicking in and out of templates

Other than that a Feature Request

I know that the Update button keeps you on the same page but the behaviour used to be that you could either go into a template and click Update or you could just click on a template and then click the Templates button and you would always go back to where you had just come from.

Seems a shame that it was taken out.

Not so good if you’ve just used the update button and then click back in the browser as you’ll be reloading the template editor again.

    Feature Request Here.
