Hello, what would be the best way to convert a large website with a lot of templates from EE 1.6.4 to EE 2.1.3?

Are there any tools to automate the process? Or does all have to be done manually within each template? Are there any instructions online to make this as efficient as possible?

Please let me know. Regards - Daron

From memory, if you use the method of incremental upgrade, the system should convert all the standard EE variables, plugins will cause issues if they’re arent EE2 compatible and must be updated prior to system upgrade.

Pull a local copy of your site down and set up via WAMP/MAMP and test the process. If you’re using “save as template” function. You’ll be able to “up” your local templates to live server once the system has been updated.
