I’m able to add the categories and nested categories but I am unable to order them alphabetically or custom (using the arrows). I’m logged in as the Super Admin so this doesn’t make sense. Is there a setting in the Control Panel which enables this “ordering” functionality for the categories?

I’m using EE 2.1.3 Build 20101220
I’ve been able to associate the Categories with a Channel and display them dynamically using, exp:channel:categories.

Very odd that I can’t order the list. Any suggestions would be a great help.

I think this might be the bug that is discussed here:

There’s a patch for it, I think, and it is being worked on for the next version.

ralph.m is correct. As that bug report notes this bug is fixed in the version 2.1.4 beta that is available for download if you wish to use that.
