I’m working on a site using the simple search EE tag and I’d like to have the no results error message display with the same look and feel of the rest of the site.  Is there anyway to use EE tags in the User Message or is there a way to tell EE to use a regular page to out put the content typically generated with the User Message?

You can use HTML but not template/EE tags.  So you can wrap the look and fell around the user message, but if any of the look and feel is dynamically coming from EE, you’d have some difficulty.

I’m not sure if this deals with search results messages too (I think it will) but there is a great add-on called Custom System Messages which is fantastic for this sort of thing.

    Best wishes,

I discovered a plug-in that does what I want, Custom System Messages.  It’s a pity because EE should do this all on its own.  I ran in to similar issues while deigning a Discussion Forum Module theme and the front-end for the Members Module.  What a horrendous nightmare that was.  I saw code that would have looked awful in 1998 when the web was just starting to walk.
