    Working on 2.1.4
I have the multi-site manager installed along with a few other add-ons (will list all if wanted).

I know it’s something specific to my setup because I have another EE (also on the 2.1.4 beta) and I can edit/delete categories just fine.

So if I click add/edit categories in the CP, I get the ID, the Order and the Category name.  The Edit and Delete columns are there, but blank.

I can do a custom order on the categories, or alphabetize them.

I’ve re-uploaded the files, just in case one got corrupted when I originally updated.

I’m doing this as a super admin.  Just to be sure, I have another account in a usergroup that is allowed to edit/delete - same result.

    Any suggestions?

Are you using any extensions? Try to disable them globally. When you replaced your files, did you upload a freh CP theme as well?

I have 4 extensions (Playa, Matrix, Channel Images and Tag).  If I disable them there’s no effect.

I re-uploaded all themes (overwrote), I guess I can try deleting the files and re-uploading them.

I tried deleting and then re-uploading the theme files.  Unfortunately, nothing changed.

Actually, the non-super admin group seems to be able to edit categories now.  The super admin still cannot (and there are no settings to check with that, obviously).

No idea if this is related, but since it seems permission-related, I thought I’d post it here instead of creating a new thread:

A usergroup with full permissions to view/edit comments cannot see them in the system anymore.  This is either by clicking “recent comments” or going into the edit entry list and attempting to view the comments from there.  They get the a no permissions error when attempting (a 500 is sent, too).  Super admin account ok in this case.

This all happened post-upgrade to beta.  Not sure why resetting permissions doesn’t work though.

I’ll keep updating, in case anyone runs into a similar issue: I added “Add-Ons” permission for the non-super admin group, and then gave them comment module access (they had that before, but not Add-Ons access).  This seemed to do the trick for them.  They can now see comments.  This was not necessary before the beta.

Only issue left is me (super admin) being able to edit categories.

    Hi VodkaFish,

Can you please go to Tools > Data > SQL Manager and browse the exp_member_groups table. Do Super Admins have the columns ‘can_edit_categories’ and ‘can_delete_categories’ set to ‘y’?

    Cheers

    Greg

Theeeeeeeeeere we go.  Both ‘n’.  The rest of the options look correct.  I’ll flip them to ‘y’.  Thanks.

One random question while I’m in there: mbr_delete_notify_emails - empty for all groups.  Is this column still used?  If not, I’ll drop it.

Don’t mess with the database structure. If it’s no longer used, the install/upgrade process will remove it.

Sounds like you’re set now. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
