Ok, here is my issue, maybe someone can help me solve it…

I am rebooting a site that has been down for about 3 years.  The site was built in Expression Engine.  I am not a programmer, I have no idea how Expression Engine works.  I have tried to get the site to work on my computer with a wamp server, I also tried loading the site up to another websites server in a subdirectory…nothing within my limited knowledge seems to be working. Any ideas?

It’s really pretty simple, but if you are not used to messing around with various things like ftp, permissions, etc. it is going to be harder.
You should probably post this in the support place for EE1, that is assuming you have a valid license.

Changes are that something is wrong in your config.php file or something like that. Of course, EE is just one part of the puzzle - you need to have all the back end database tables at the site, etc.

If this all sounds over your head, you might be better hiring a pro to get it up and working.
