    Until the bug is addressed if you need to overcome the issue stated above, wrap the safecracker in a channel:entries tag and add

    logged_out_member_id="{author_id}"

    to the set of safecracker parameters.

    we had trouble replicating this in the current version of EE.

    Can you you give us some more detail and context of your setup please with any relative version, build numbers, template examples and error notices?

    On further investigation I seem to have missed the setting in the group access “Can edit entries authored by others”
