Apache rewrite is not working anymore

    This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    So ever since I switched from php4 to php5 to fixe the issue in the link above, the rewrite engine is now NOT removing the index.php from the url, so all of my URL links are creating 404’s.

    Is there some setting in the php.ini that would make this happen. i checked the htaccess file and it is correct.

    i had the exact same thing happen to me.. but it was for 301 redirects. no solution yet, and a post i made here in the forums received no replies.

    Ok I just got some good support from my hosting company and here is what was said:

    If PHP5 is running on Apache 2.2 as CGI mode, which it is, Apache is not going to support “PATH_INFO”. The solution, go to .htaccess file and add question mark after index.php and before slash. I’ve changed your account to PHP5, and updated your .htaccess file. Your page is loading without issue.
