    Evolve Websites

    Hi there,

I’m in the early stages of a client’s new e-commerce website at the moment.

I’m currently learning EE and am planning to use EE (+ suitable plugin, at this stage carthrob, foxycart or brilliant retail) for the e-commerce side of things. Whether I do this my self or outsource to an experienced developer is still to be confirmed.

My question comes from finding a suitable e-commerce system that can integrate with my clients finance and stock control systems (both currently Sage).

Does anyone have any experience of integrating e-commerce sites with finance and stock control systems?

Does anyone know of some good resources for this information?

    Any help appreciated!

    Hi Tom,
A company I used to work with were looking to introduce B2B on their site and needed to integrate with Sage. The specifics of integrating with Sage are not really my area so I’ll stay out of commenting there - but I know the IT dept. did invest in a set of APIs from Datel, which in theory allows you to get as much integration as you could possibly require.

Might go beyond what you actually need, but maybe a help ...

    That’s really helpful, thanks John.

I’d be interested to hear anyone else’s thoughts, I can’t be the first person looking to integrate an e-commerce site with finance & stock packages?
