    Hello,

I’m posting here to make sure that it’s actually a bug and not a configuration error.

    1) Content > Publish > Category title
    2) Click on insert image icon
    3) Hover over existing image => HTML title is correct image path
    3) Click on existing image in file manager
    4) error => EE requests URL of image instead of getting it from image title

    Solution :

    1) Hover over image until title shows
    2) Note image url that shows up
    3) When EE asks for URL type URL shown as title in filemanager

Is there a bug in EE javascript for this build ?

    Hello,

I’ve come across another problem, and this time I’m beginning to wonder if EE 2 is stable or stall Alpha… !

When I click on the add a new link button there is a non breakable space after the

    <a

that stops the link from working.

    <a_NON_BREAKABLE_SPACE_HERE_href="#">Link</a>

    My questions are :

    1) What file do I have to edit to fix this problem ?
    2) Why were links not tested before this version was released ? Do you not have any quality control before releases ?
    3) When will EE 2 be stable ?
    4) What version of EE should I be using for a production site ? Should I be using EE 1.7 ?
    5) EE 2 came out over a year ago, why isn’t it stable yet ?

EE 1.x is a very good product, I hope EE 2.x will soon be just as good as EE 1.x

For the moment I’m stuck ! My client can’t add images or links to his posts :(

Edit : Seems that your forum has got problems too with special characters breaking a post when saving !

What version and build of EE are you using? Any extensions? What control panel theme are you using?

I can’t replicate the problem with either 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 beta.

eeblvds, have you considered upgrading to 2.1.3?

I just ran the upgrade to 2.1.3 build 20101220, same thing.

I have 2 machines running EE2, in my local environment, when I click the image icon, and I choose an image it inserts the wrong url, by example, if the url is { filedir_13}cordell.jpg, it inserts { filedir_13}undefined (whitout the space); however in Boulevards development environment (which I just upgraded to 2.1.3 today), when I click on the image I get an ajax error, I followed another thread here http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/177285/, where they said I needed the HTML Formatting Button for img, I added it by clicking the default button and now when I click an image it asks me for the image http (src) and alt text. Then it inserts whan I wrote but why do I have to write the image url when I selected the image to insert?

This is very annoying really. What do you recommend me to do? do you need a user and password to see this for yourself in the dev environment?

    Thanks,

    eeblvds,

Ok so the HTML buttons are different from the actual File Chooser. The file chooser allows you to add img urls etc as you can see. If you want a file chooser go into your custom field settings and in the custom field options turn on Show File Chooser.

Now below your custom field on the publish form you will see anew icon which allows you to add existing files in your system and add new ones to that field

    Does that help?

    Hi there John,

I have the Show File Chooser enabled for the field, how can I experience this problem with the File Chooser turned off? the problem is that when I click the File Chooser, and then I select an image, the file chooser asks me for the url instead of getting it from the image I am selecting.

I appreciate any help you can give, I am migrating a set of big sites from ee1 to ee2, Editorial requires to be able to add images without having remeber urls. I was hoping someone had the same problem (like Monarobase here) and it would be easy to fix but I think I will have to fix the source code myself.

Any chance that support will answer the OP - the one who actually started this thread? Also, I realize how busy folks are but before asking what version of EE a poster is using, it would be extremely helpful if you would first look thoroughly through the post and especially at the title of the thread…

    Hi Monarobase,

I can replicate neither issue using version 2.1.3. Can you please answer Ingmar’s questions, do you have any extensions installed and which CP theme are you using?

@eeblvds, were the images you are having a problem with uploaded using the File Manager? If you upload a new image does the same thing happen?

    Cheers

    Greg

This problem persists; did any get any further than this yet?

Additional questions might be i) running MSM; and ii) which Modules?

    Thanks Jules

    Hi Jules,

I know you had asked about trying the 2.1.4 beta - it is downloadable just like any other version from your Downloads page. When you click to download you’ll be asked whether you want 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 beta. Let us know if that works for you!

Hi Brandon; yes I did find it and no, it made no difference.

Which implies either i) them damage was done by the 168=>213 upgrade script; or, ii) assuming all of the issues we’re seeing are javascript related, my FTP client is marginally damaging the files on upload (Transmit prefers Binary for .js files).

    Thanks

    Jules,

    What browser are you using?

Can you clearly explain your exact issue as there are a few things happening above.
What build and version of both EE and MSM are you on now?
Do you have any add-ons installed?

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from a previous version or build?

Under My Account -> HTML Buttons can you take a screenshot please?
