Hello.  I was following this thread: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/178896/ and it says it is resolved, however I am running the latest version and build off EE.  I do not want to apply a beta fix to the production environment.  Is there a timeline on when this will be released as a fix / new version?

The issue is that in the channel preferences I have versioning on but any new entry in the channel leaves “enable versioning for this entry” not checked.

I am afraid not. It’s been fixed in the Beta, as you say, so the next regular release will most likely contain it as well. Unfortunately I have no estimate for when that is going to happen.

You can check out the beta release of 2.1.4 we have available in the downloads section or Wait until 2.1.4 is released.  I am afraid those are the only two options available at this time.

Hi Barry,

Could you tell me which files were changed for the versioning fix?  From reading through the 2.1.4 notes it looks like there are wholesale changes to the file manager and I wouldn’t want to roll that to production ... am thinking this would be a good thing to keep in the back pocket in case the release isn’t completed before this project goes live.

Yes, there were a lot of changes made to the file manager. I wouldn’t advise mixing and matching files from various releases, it would be a lot safer to just use the beta. But since this is a mission critical site, then you’ll need to wait for the full 2.1.4 release.
