I’ve tried everything I can think of, but I cannot get this plugin to show up at all. I have read of the same issue before, but that was resolved by putting the plugin file inside a folder of the same name - I’ve tried this, but still no joy.

    Anyone had similar problems?

Modfather, just to be clear have should have a path that looks similar to

    system/expressionengine/third_party/word_limit/pi.word_limit.php

Is that similar to what you have?

Marcus, cheers for your help there - I had…

    system/expressionengine/plugins/word_limit/pi.word_limit.php

Why are some plugins in the plugins folder and some in third_party then?  I assumed this wouldn’t go in third_party as it’s a Rick Ellis joint.

    Thanks again.

Hi, modfather. Glad Marcus was able to help.

EE2.x changed the way we do add-ons. *All* add-ons, even ones that come from EllisLab, now go into the the /system/expressionengine/third_party folder, except for the ones that come with EE initially. It can be a bit confusing..

Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
