This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I just pointed my domain at the EE site and making the appropriate adjustments.  Unfortunately, when I attempt various entries for the Theme Folder Path, it gives an error message.

I’m sure this is something simple but the lack of documentation (see below) doesn’t help.

Prior to my switch (and now the default that reappears after an error message) is /ehXXXXX/public_html/themes/.  I have tried a number of combinations including the domain name (/ehXXXX/domainname.com/themes—with and without “public_html”, “index.php”, etc.)

And, please do not refer me to http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/admin/system_admin/general_configuration.html.  Unless I’m completely missing it, there is NO mention of what Theme Folder Path is or how it should read.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

    Hi rlwsota,

    Welcome to the forums!

If you are with EngineHosting then your full server path to the themes folder will be:

    /www/eh12345/public_html/themes

Where 12345 is your own ID. Please try that and let us know if that works.

    Cheers

    Greg,

Thanks for the reply, the welcome and the assistance.

I did insert the “/www” in front of what was already there and hit submit.  It did not give an error message but did subsequently remove the “/www"and left the remainder.  Hitting submit again, it bounced.

So I’ll reinsert the “/www”, submit and leave it alone.  Seems like strange behavior to me.

Also, the documentation (that referred to in my original post and the related post) does not address this at all.  Perhaps someone could fix that?

    Regards,
    rlwsota

    Hi rlwsota,

If this value is not ‘sticking’ in the CP then it probably means that you have a config item set for this already. Please edit your system/expressionengine/config/config.php file and look for:

    $config['theme_folder_path'] = '...';

If it is set there please make sure that it contains the correct full server path.

    Cheers

    Greg

    Greg,

Thanks for your assistance.  Shortly before your post, I was poking around the config file and noticed that the default was inconsistent with what you recommended.  I changed it and the path seems fine now.

    Regards.

rlwsota, in the future take a look at Deeploy Helper. It pulls all of the various paths into a single page so you can change make sure that they are all set as expected.

But glad you were able to get it working again. Don’t hesitate to post again if needed.
