is there an upper threshold on the size of a mailing list in 1.7

It is set up to sent out 25 at a time, every 5 secounds

It seems recently ( last few weeks ) that after 3 years the size has peaked, even though we are always getting new sign ups

    bthom62,

It is set up to sent out 25 at a time, every 5 secounds

This seems irrelevant to the actual size of the list

It seems recently ( last few weeks ) that after 3 years the size has peaked, even though we are always getting new sign ups

What’s the number of Total Emails when you goto the Mailing List module?
If you sign-up from an unused address via your frontend can you increase this number

    6666 plus or minus 2-3

for the last 3 years we have grown by 2-5 a day

since Jan 17 we hit this number and even though we get new ones in, the number basically stays the same

Yes I can add a name

I’m not sure I follow completely. The number of subscribers stays the same? When you subscribe with a test address, does that number increase?

It does, then after a day it goes back

Reason I am asking if there is a cap on emails is this:

    1. three different people all at the same time complained they were no longer on the list (they know about the unsubscribe feature)

    2. for three years it steadily rose from 1,000 to 6,666 and now for a month it goes to 6667 or 6668 , but when the mailout gets done it always goes back to 6666 or 6664 or 6661

    3. a consistant oddity appears here

    4. it could be circumstance, but for almost a month, always gettingjust enough new subscriptions to always bring it up to the 6666 number barely over and barely under (i.e. + or - a 1 or 2

Hi, bthom62. I added over 7000 email addresses to my mailing list in EE 1.7. It’s not an issue with the number of emails being logged, but it may have to do with how you’re sending out the messages. What does your screen look like in the Mailing List tab?

I go to the communications tab

open previous email, change information and subject heading, send it to myself to check my work, go back in and ad the mailing list and resend

This is how i have done it for 2 years

If you make a new mailing list, and copy the ones from your older list and add some fake addresses, does the number go up?

I suspect what’s happening is that your mailing list members are getting the email in a spam folder, and may just not see them.

EE will allow you to store more than 6666 email addresses, I don’t think that’s the issue. Make sense?

    Thanks

With all the issues still working on the site, anything that goes awry I worry about

This I guess is one less, to worry about.

    Thank you all

    Hi bthom62,

Is this issue resolved now? Did Sue’s explanation deal with the problem?

    Cheers
