I’m totally new to EE2. We bought it for a 30days trial like I’m do a trial
on Drupal. Installing Drupal 7 was no problem at all, this takes only 2 hours…..but now Installing EE2 ... ??????????? thats another question. So I have a problem!

How can I install EE2 to a xserve mac mini server osx 10.6 locally?

I found the same question on the forum but NO answer. Following the installation handout, step1 is no problem. But step 2…renaming the “system"folder give me problems and this is only step 2 ! Any solution or tips ?

The /librray/webserver/documents is ok and the webservices and dns are ok and running.

    Best Regards,
    Marc

If you have a working web server with PHP and a MySQL db working locally this should be no problem.

Following the installation handout, step1 is no problem. But step 2…renaming the “system"folder give me problems and this is only step 2 !

Please follow these instructions. What issues are you having with renaming the “system” folder? Note that this step is fully optional so you might want to skip it at this point, seeing as how this is a local install.

OK, found my mistakes. Here my solution:
    1. Install Mamp and create mysql database, installs PHP etc…
    2. go to /applications/mamp/htdocs and create a folder Expressionengine
    3. copy all downloaded installation files to that last folder
    4. copy folder ee-wizart to that last folder
    5. running browser: http://localhost/Expressionengine/system

The first mistake was that there is a system folder in the root path of the xserver installation and this has nothing to do with the system folder off EE2. The system folder in the installation procedure of EE2 is the one installed in /applications/mamp/htdocs/Expressionengine and NOT the system folder of the server.

    Problem solved up to now.
