I’m trying to figure out the best way to display a series of PDFs. I just want them listed by their name with a link to download. Is there a way to upload them through the file manager and display them directly from the folder or do I have to create a channel for uploading them, and then call on the channel entries to display them. Not really sure what will work.

If the PDF’s aren’t associated with any other Channel then the easiest option is to create a Channel for “Downloads” and use a Channel entrie stag to output the list of files and download links.

Added benefit of putting them into a dedicated downloads channel instead of just using a field within the main channel it might have to do with primarily is that you can then use relationship fields in your other channels (either regular or Playa for multiple) to associate a download with one or more entries from other channels - and only have to update once in the downloads channel for that update to be reflected in all the other places in the site you’d want to have the download available.

Hey Guys. I have made the PDF list work perfectly, but I now have another questions. If I write a blog post, is there a way to select some text in the post and link it to an uploaded (through the file manager) PDF?
