Blank page when accessing site

    Out of the blue, we had two clients alert us that their EE (v 1.6.7) was offering up blank pages.  Sure enough hitting the index.php page returns nothing.  I can login via the the admin panel (http://www.client-url.com/system_folder/index.php) but the ‘Edit’, ‘Communicate’, and ‘My Account’ tabs all return a blank page.  I can access the templates tab and view the details.

    Following the forum I’ve increased the memory within php (along with bouncing the servers) to no avail (got all the way up to 128MB).

    An example of the request results in Chrome:

    The webpage at http://www.client-url.com/system_folder/index.php?S=tokenInfo&C=edit might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

    The site has been working fine for 2 years…then this. no changes to server

    Also as a follow up when I attempt to change debug settings within Admin->System Preferences->Out and debug settings::Debug Prefernces, I get the following error:

    The webpage at http://www.client-url.com/system_folder/index.php?S=tokenInfo&C=admin&M=config_mgr&P=update_cfg might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

    Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error.

    Hi, dbaumann. You’re quite a few builds behind. Can you either refresh the files or upgrade to 1.7.0? After making a database backup, of course.

    Did the clients add any additional third party add-ons?

    Thanks for the replies.  The issue has been resolved, and it was a bit of a head-fake.  Here’s the breakdown:

    A few EE sites went down at the same time, the same server hosted other non EE sites which were fine. I was abe to access the EE admin site and interact with most of the tabs as well as post updates.  After much head scratching I exported the db and downloaded the entire httpdocs folder and installed locally (using same version of php)...the site worked perfectly.  SO, it was definitely a server issue.

    First things first,  I rebooted the entire apache server and per the magic that is a reboot the site came back.  It seems that something got a little ‘horked’ on the server that EE didn’t like.  All that was needed was to pull a Fonzi on the box…all is well.  Consider this case closed.
