this is for a new member group (called “admin”) that I set up and obviously didn’t configure properly. but I can’t for the live of me figure out how to allow those members to select the right channel.

when I add an entry as a super admin, the page is published with the proper channel and status=open. when I log in as admin, however, the channel select box is empty and the status changes to “closed” once I hit the submit button.

I’m running EEv2.1.3 with ‘structure’ module.

    thanks.

    Hi, pirco.

First things first. Double check that the channel in question has a status group assigned to it. If it doesn’t any entries put in by anyone other than a SuperAdmin comes in Closed. (Or if they edit, they can’t save it to anything but closed.)

As far as the member group goes, you’ll need to allow them to access the channel in question. See the attached screen shot.

    Does that help?

Just an aside, if this is still an issue after changing in EE, you’ll need to check with the Structure folks.

    helps perfectly. thanks.

I did not assign status groups (forgot that I had to) and it works.
the channel select box still is empty (channel is assigned to that member group), although that’s OK for now.

Unfortunately I can’t assist if you’re using Structure. Does it work without that in the equation?

    understood!

unfortunately, I can’t de-install Structure at this point – but I’m not too concerned as I don’t need to allow this member group to change channel assignment.

thanks for your help, sue! after all these years…
