Hi

I am working on a MSM install with a USA site and a Euro site.  They both have their default member group in their settings (members-us & members-euro).

However, the membership is activated by an admin, using the activate pending members feature.  What i want to happen is that the members go from “pending” to their correct membership groups based on what site they registered from.  However this doesnt seem to happen, they seem to get put in the member group based on what site the admin is logged in on…

Any ideas?

What version and build of EE are you using? Are you saying that you’re using a common “Pending” group but two different “member” groups afterwards? In that case the Admin needs to specify the group to which users are to be moved, yes.

But as I understand it, the “pending” group is some kind of special EE member group since it knows to put those members in the “activate pending members” page, I was hoping this had some kind of MSM support and remembers what site they had registered from so when they are activated (using the activate pending members feature) they join the correct site’s default member group.

The problem is if the admin manually specifies which group they are in (rather than using the activate pending members feature) the user doesn’t get any kind of automated email response telling them their account is activated/declined?

I am afraid that’s not easily possible with EE. Have you looked into Solspace’s User module? It should off your significantly more flexibility for issues like that.

It’s a regular member group, yes.
