I recently launched a site that I am hosting on EngineHosting. Before the site officially launched I used the temporary URL that EngineHosting provided (http://masud.ehclients.com/). When it was time to launch and the DNS was changed I also changed all the URLs in the General Configuration area of the Control Panel.

So now the problem is that the temporary URL is still present in the Control Panel site button located in the upper right of the control panel. When I click it the URL that it redirects to is http://masud.ehclients.com/

How do I change that URL?

Oh and just so you know I’m running 2.1.3 with a common mix of add-ons including: Playa, Matrix, NSM BeterMeta, NSM .htaccess Generator, CP Analytics Settings.

    Thanks,

    Keith

    Hi Keith,

That link should be changed whenever you update the “URL to the root directory of your site” at Admin > General Configuration. That is now showing the correct site URL? Is this an MSM site?

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

Yes that’s been my experience up until now…changing “URL to the root directory of your site” at Admin > General Configuration should have changed all occurrences of the old URL. This button seems to be the only thing that hasn’t changed. Global variables such as {homepage} and others that use that URL have all changed, just not this darn button.

To answer your question. No I don’t have MSM.

    Thanks,

    Keith

Hi, Keith. When you hover over the button, what link shows in your browser? In my case, I see the following: (See attached screen shot.)

    Keith,

In your config.php file fill in the value for base_url

    $config['base_url']    = 'http://masudlaborlaw.com';

Thanks! That fixed it ... Any idea why that didn’t update on it’s own?

I think you might have to use the Quick Links Manager, or some other overlooked setting? Glad to hear it’s working as intended now.
