Help - I’m trying to wrap my head around something and I’m not sure I can accomplish what I want with one installation of EE or if MSM is required.

I rebuilding two new sites that currently reside on the same server:

    Site Number 1: Local Nursery
    Site Number 2: Flower Brand

The Flower Brand site will be in a subdirectory within Local Nursery’s site (http://www.localnursery.com/flowerbrand) that redirects to http://www.flowerbrand.com

Is it possible to develop both sites with one installation of EE - and maintain the proper URLs for the second site?

I’m also confused about whether this is technically considered 2 sites, since the second site is actually just a subdirectory being redirected. Can I make this work somehow, or is MSM absolutely required?

As a follow up - I’m thinking that this could be accomplished easily by just putting a copy of the main site’s index.php file in the subdirectory site - then editing the $system_path.

I did try this with no luck. Help me understand.

    Thanks
    Dave
