I have had a site running quite happily for the last year or so when the client realised that they could no longer upload files, the error message we get is:

Warning: require(/home/928/xxxx/www.mysite.co.uk/public_html/petadmin/core/core.upload.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/928/xxxx/www.mysite.co.uk/public_html/xxxx/cp/cp.publish.php on line 9133

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/928/xxxx/www.mysite.co.uk/public_html/xxxx/core/core.upload.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/928/xxxx/www.mysite.co.uk/public_html/xxxx/cp/cp.publish.php on line 9133

The hosting company (webfusion) says it is the fault of ee but I am sure it isn’t as the uploads worked and then didn’t.

Any advice on how I can fix this or what I need to tell the hosting company would be good.

I am getting it in the neck from the client….

    Steve,

What version and build of EE are you using?
    Are you using any extensions?
Is this a standard upload or is there a third-party custom field at play?

Check in the file upload preferences that you clients group still has permission to upload

What is on line 9133 of cp/cp.publish.php ?

    Hi,

the version of ee is 1.6.3 but the client will not pay to upgrade until this issue is sorted. The issue happens on the standard file upload and when I use the file manager module, all of these used to work.

When i use the file manager i get the following error message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class File_Browser in /home/928/annv/www.petproducts.co.uk/public_html/petadmin/cp/cp.filebrowser.php on line 28

This happens if I upload (admin) and any other user.

unfortunately I can’t check what is on line 9133 until later as i am teaching at the moment.

I have a meeting with the client on Tuesday next week where it would be good to have an answer (hopefully that the host is at fault…)

    Thanks

    Steve

If it used to work before, then suddenly doesn’t, it usually means something has been changed on the server. This looks like a possible permission issue, make sure that the upload directory still has the required permissions. That said, an upgrade to EE 1.7 is strongly recommended.
