I’m having a hard time finding a way to display channel entries grouped by category. Here’s the output I’m trying to achieve on a single page:

    Category 1
    - Entry A
    - Entry B

    Category 2
    - Entry C

    Category 3
    - Entry D
    - Entry E

    How can I achieve this?

    Shawn,

Take a look at the Channel Category Archive Tag

Thanks John. I should’ve provided a better example. I actually need more than just the entry titles for each category. I also need to output some custom fields for each entry. The Category Archives Tag docs say it only gives you access to the title of each entry and not any other data.

    Thanks, though…

    Shawn,

I’m going to move this to the CodeShare Corner but take a look at this article and it should get you where you want to be

That’s exactly what I ended up doing, John. Seems as though there should be a way to do this using regular EE tags, though. I would assume it’s a fairly common requirement, no? Appreciate the help. Have a great day!

Shawn, thanks for posting. That was exactly the issue I run into yesterday and mentioned post by Low was a timesaver. I agree with you that this seems to be (at least for me) a common requirement.
Thanks also to John… I’m always impressed by the speed of the replies (and of course the quality!) in the ee forums!

No problem, Hans.. Maybe they’ll add this to the core eventually. One can only hope!
