I need a character limiter that counts down in real time just like the one used in this forum post editor. IE: (5883 characters remaining) Except I need it for the comments form.
Every time a user tries to comment on one of my sites, if their comment is over 500 characters, the system errors. It’s pretty frustrating trying to edit down a comment when you have no idea where the threshold is ya know?
Can anyone tell me how this is done with EE 2?

I am not aware of any such tool. This probably wouldn’t be too difficult using jQuery or something similar. If you’re looking for a native EE solution, please consider making a Feature Request.

I looked at Devot:ee and found a few things but there is absolutely no instructions on how to install them or use them or any examples of there plugins working.
Does anyone have an example of a character limiter working?
