If someone could check some thing in their EE2 install to see if its only my setup:
-when I hide some field from showing in publish menu (channel>custom fields>edit) I can’t turn it on again, eve I put there ‘Yes’. The solution that I found is edit publish page template, open that field, and save template for every member group.
-I can’t get Localize in member groups, even I put ‘Yes’ in “Membership preferences>Allow members to set their own localization preferences”, and ih I put there ‘No’, they still see english language in CP and not the one I select in General configuration.

When I update both forms, I get green light, and I can see that info is saved.
I’m not using any custom cp theme, and I dont have any headers in htaccess, only gzip enabled by EE.

    Hey Sue
English for me, and trying to enable that user can choose between english or croatian, the language pack is fine, I can’t enable member localize button in their settings page.
    Thanx

Absolutely no mod_rewrite? Are you using any extensions or other third_party add-ons?

I found a way to repeat the issue with hidden field:
As I use custom publish layout, resetting that layout, solves issue, but if I add one tab more, and I put there some fields, then I hide some textarea, it hides, but showing is not working throw custom field settings, I need to edit publish page, open that field and then save it for member groups.

About localize, can’t get their language changed automatically by setting language in site configuration, neither that “Allow members to set their own localization preferences” works. As super admin I changed their language, but something strange is happening there.

These issues are not so important, but don’t know if its something with my installation.
Could you replicate some of this issues?
    thanx

When I look at the zip file for the Croation language files, I don’t see what the folder name under /language is supposed to be.

For the German language files, it’s deutsch.

    Hey Sue,
language pack seems ok, because if I as super admin change language for that user (in that user profile settings), he can see it normally, he just can’t change Localize preferences by himself, I need to do it as a admin.

I send you screens of the options, can you check it on your local version, to see if that is working as it should, I checked this now on EE1.7 and I can see localize button as a member.

    Thank you

    Davor,

From what you are describing with your custom field it looks like default behaviour. If you never used Publish Layouts then show/hiding your custom field via its individual preference works fine.

If you build and save a Publish Layout then this takes preference as another layer on top of that so you will need to update each layout you saved if you wish to make a change.

Regarding your member being able to update their localization. I can’t replicate this locally. The option shows up for me in My account while logged in as other member.

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from a previous version or build?

Do you have anything in your config.php regarding localization?

Yeah, thats what I thought, but if I reset publish layout, then should be like its new right? or not? because it working the same, I can only hide it throw field configuration, for showing I need to go to edit publish layout.

This was update from 2.1.1. I will try these days a fresh install on my local, and try to see if this happens again, could be that something went wrong in the update process.
    Nothing regarding localize in config.

Thanks for now John, I will try to make a fresh install just to check and be sure 😊
