Hi,
am having a problem with the member list in EE 2.1.1. I imported 500 members vith xml and everything was looking fine at first. All names were displaying correctly. Then I moved the web from subfolder to the mainfolder (did nothing with the database, it stayed the same).

Now all of a sudden the foreign characters in member name and member group name are displaying like it’s in the wrong encoding. On refreshing the member list page (members - view all) they appear correctly for a half a second or so but then you can see them change.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to fix this?

What’s the encoding for the page? Is it set to UTF-8?

yes it is utf-8. This is the member page in the control panel in EE that I’m talking about. I’ll send you the access in MSG.

Do you’ve got a link? I’ve seen this before, I think it was the server overriding the user specified encoding with a server-side default. Can you make sure there is no AddDefaultCharset directive in place?

Perhaps a client side override, i.e. in your browser? Using the login you sent me I am seeing the list, and it’s fine:

yes everything is looking fine - except form the member list. Go to “Members” and “View all”...

I am afraid everything points to a server issue. This header is returned:

Content-Type:    text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1

which explains what I am seeing. Perhaps ask your host about it?

problem solved - that was the case. The server was set to iso-8859.
