    Hi!

I am suddenly unable to preview publish layouts. When I check a layout and press the ‘preview’-button I am immeadatly thrown up to the top of the page but nothing slides out from the top. No messages, no errormessages - no nothing.

    Any Idea?

    David,

Just to confirm. This is the behaviour you will see if you are teh only user/memebr group of the publish layout. This feature is really for previewing the different layouts saved for different member groups.

Is this what you are doing? Trying to preview a different member group’s layout?

You said.. suddenly. What changed from then until now? Did you install any new add-ons, etc.?

To be honest… I dont know. I realize I have been experimenting with a lot of different addons and I would not be surpriced if there is a conflict somewhere. I tried to disable all the extensions but that made no difference. I could ofcourse uninstall a lot of modules but reinstalling them will be a major pain I guess. And running EE stripped from addons would force me to rewrite a lot of templates in order to avoid a lot of errormessages I guess.

Is there a recomended troubleshooting-chart for situations like this?

    /David

Try to re-upload a fresh set of EE files, including theme files. Try to recreate your custom layouts, too.

    Oh Ingmar! Your killing me!

...OK…  I’ll see for how long I can live with it and then sooner or later I’ll do a complete rewrite of the whole site 😊

Or test with a local install. Do you want us to close this thread, or keep it open a bit longer?

Go ahead and close it. It seems I am pretty alone on this one… :(

I am sorry to hear that. Please don’t hesitate to start a new thread in case there’s anything else (or want to revisit this issue). Thanks.
