    ‘ello,

Here is my setup and what I’m trying to do.

I have a site running 1.6.9 that has freeform for collecting data and a custom module I built to move it into different weblogs (in the CP).

Now that the ee2 modules are available that I use I really want to upgrade.

I keep a copy of the site to do dev work on then hg (mercurial) the template changes to the live server. As the dev server is an exact replica of the live server I thought it would be a really good idea to upgrade the dev server to ee2.1.3, fix all the problems and get the latest modules working and tested, then hg push the changes.

The problem I have is the live site will continue to have data added to the db and after briefly looking it didn’t look like it was straight forward to sync the data from live to the new ee2 structure.

Could someone recommend an easy way to move exp_weblogs and associated data from 1.6.9 to 2.1.3 or maybe a better solution to tackle this problem.

Unfortunately I cannot take the live site offline for more than 30 minutes, hence why I maintain a dev replica.

    Thx
    Justin

You’re right about sync issues. However, if you purchase a third party add-on called DataGrab, it will allow you to import from a .csv file, a magpie or RSS feed, so that you can upgrade your dev site. That’s how I’d approach it.

You can find a link to DataGrab on Devot-ee.com.
