    EE2 Version: 2.1.3
    MSM Version: 2.x Build 20101220

    I moved the MSM files to my server, and once I changed the config to turn on the MSM my site broke and I got this message:

    “Site Error: Unable to Load Site Preferences; No Preferences Found”

    Any ideas what might be going on?  Upon recommendation of a few other topics I ran the EE server wizard and everything came up yes.

    Hi, Matthew. I know what causes this, because I had the same thing happen to me. It has to do with the site short name being mismatched.

    Double check those settings.

    $assign_to_config['site_name'] = 'begin';

    I had begin and beginners 😊

    See if that helps.

    Ok so I created a directory where my 2nd site is going to exist. I copied the index.php file there as instructed by the User Guide. Now do my assign_to_config values have to be the same in both my index.php files? Or do they coincide to the site they are for?

    I’ve tried both ways, and as soon as I flip that switch to turn on the MSM the CMS breaks and I get that error message still.

    The assign_to values need to reflect the site in whose sub directory you place the config file, yes. As Sue suggested, check that the site name is configured correctly. See the docs for details.

    I got it to work. I had a few things slightly off in my index.php file. Appreciate the help!

    One thing I found misleading about the docs, they tell me I need to create my site in EE before setting up my domain/subdirectories. But I had to do it the opposite way.

    Thanks again
