    Hiya,

I’m working on an Expression 1 installation with the Gallery module installed.

I have a few questions about the gallery module.
Can you make a custom drop down field a multi select?
Can you add more custom fields?

I need the answers to these to be yes ;0)

    Thanks!

Hi, David. You have 6 additional fields you can use with the Gallery module. There’s no built in method for creating a multiple select drop down field.

You may want to consider using a weblog to build a gallery, you’d be able to customize it.

    Does that help?

    Hi Sue,

We are already using 4 of the 6 custom fields and it’s not enough.
The site was built a while ago using the gallery module and it’s now clearly not robust enough now we need to beef things up.

We can’t bin the gallery module as we don’t have the time to rewrite the site so looks like we’ll have to compromise on the ease of use for the backend and have a linked gallery and weblog entry - far from ideal but looks like the only way to get what we need.

As Sue said, unfortunately there’s not built-in way to increase that number. I, too, would recommend to look into using the weblog module instead of the gallery module for greater flexibility.
