This question is related to a resolved thread.

During an update attempt, the installer/updater script tripped up on the wiki module and after reviewing the forums, looks like this is a known issue that’s been around for a while, so I’m hoping you have a workaround by now.

I’m having the database restored to a back up now, but what do I need to do to get a site updated from 1.6.8 to current? The 1.6.8 site does have the wiki installed. I could see about uninstalling it, but isn’t there a better way?

Can I beta test a new-improved updater that should work with the wiki module for you?

This client has a rather large database (had to be imported in chunks to the new host) so we really don’t want to have to uninstall the module over on the existing site, then move all the data again, just to run the updater script. (we’re moving the site from an out-dated Windows server to EngineHosting). We do not want to risk breaking the live site on the Windows server.

    Got a solution for us?

    Kurt,

For consistency of the thread can you post the exact errors you received?

Can you post the column names you have for the exp_wiki_page table? Even a screenshot would help

We ended up uninstalling the wiki from the 1.6.8 install, wiping the database from the failed update, replacing it with a fresh upload of the data (with the wiki removed) and we got the update to work.

Not sure what the specific errors were, and didn’t have time to try and capture the wiki info before it was removed so we could get this project moving forward. Sorry we don’t have much more for you to go on except that it appears the installer/updater scrips are not prepared for some versions of the wiki.

Now that we have an update we are moving forward with the site development and that’s what really matters for us at this point. You can close this thread if you like.

    Thanks.
