    Hi There,

I am having some trouble with 1 hour being added on to entries after I edit them.

The problem seems to only occur on entries that were initially created while the site was still on version 2.1. New entries made on version 2.1.3 seem to update just fine after they are edited.

Is this a problem anyone else is having?

As for addons I have: Matrix, NSM Better Meta, Playa, Logiq Pagination, Wygwam, CP Analytics.

The entries that have trouble only make use of Matrix and Wygwam.

Please let me know if I can explain anything further, and thanks in advance for your help.

Oops just realized I wasn’t very specific on the version I upgraded from. It was version 2.1.0.

Hi, Keith. There were a few weird date issues. In order to fix things, you need to delete and re-create the entry. It depends on how important the actual time is to you..

I guess that wasn’t the answer I was hoping for…The date isn’t too important for this job, but it did throw off the ordering of some of the content. Is there any hope of this being fixed in a future release? Would this be considered a bug? It makes me kinda nervous that there are a “few weird date issues”.

    Hi Keith,

Are these entries future-dated and across and DST boundary?

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to your question. To answer your questions, no the entries are not future dated.

They could be across the DST boundary, but I’m not sure what you mean by that.

    Thanks,

    Keith

    Keith,

The entries that have trouble only make use of Matrix and Wygwam

it looks like these add-ons are having a direct affect on the issue. Does Brandon’s support forums indicate anything similar or related to your issue?

So if you make a new channel and don’t use those particular add-ons, dates are OK?

It looks like I lied. This problem also occurs on channels that DO NOT use Matrix or Wygwam.

Just to reiterate the problem: every new entry that I have created AFTER the upgrade to 2.1.3 works fine. It’s those entries that I made before the 2.1.3 update (when I was running 2.1.0) that are having the issue when I make an edit. So for example, if I go to edit a blog post that I originally created under 2.1.0 an hour is added to the post when I submit. On the other hand if I create a new post (now on 2.1.3) and submit and then edit all is fine.

    Thanks!

When you edit an entry which covers a time during which DST was active (but in which you currently aren’t) the time may be off by an hour. Derek posted some background about this in our blog.

I’m also experiencing this issue. And the dates/times are VERY important, as it’s an event calendar. Everyone is being told to go an hour ahead. The DST is turned off and no matter how many times I set the time to 1pm, when I save and go back, it shows 2pm.

This is incredibly important and my client (an author) is stressed about it, worried her fans will show up to an event an hour late.  I read Derek’s post in the blog, but I’m not sure what to do about this situation right now. There was a lot of info there, which is great, but no real solution or a workaround? I realize they’re working on it, I just don’t know what to do in the interim.

Help? I’m not sure how to fix this in the interim other than offsetting the time by an hour and then going back changing ALL the other events to reflect this, which seems illogical.

    Any new info here?

Meh, I’m just going to insert a field for event time and call it a day. 😊 Hopefully, this gets worked out soon! Thanks!
