To where do I copy 1.7.0 files to set up local XAMPP development platform?

I may just be dense, but I have set up a local server under Windows 7 professional using XAMPP. And I have downloaded a fresh copy of EE 1.7.0. But I haven’t a clue as to where within the XAMPP created directory structure I should copy 1.7.0.

Any thoughts??? Will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. Larry A.
