I am wanting to install EE2 locally on my Windows Vista pc using XAMPP.
First of all can this done?
Second, when placing in the license number in the install, does this register with an Ellislab database when installed on a web server to remove the 30 day trail?
Want to make sure if that happened or not since I am installing locally.

first. Yes can be done. I’m on mac, but use MAMP for local instal no problem. Just followed the normal set up.
second. Not sure I understand.

There is no 30 day trial any more, what version do you have?
