I started a similar thread last year and didn’t really follow through with it, but this time, it’s happening.

    Date: Wednesday Feb 23rd, 2011
Were: The Nerdery (no, not thenerdary.net, nerdery.com 😉

Please let us know if you’re coming so we know how much pizza to order!

Our office holds meetups, user groups, or whatever you want to call them for Wordpress, Python and various other things… it’s about time we have an EE meetup. We have a huge projector and sitting area for presentations. Pizza and snacks are provided.

Topic: Mingling, WP bashing, and I’ll be unveiling the multi-lingual/draft add-on I’ve been working on and digging into the code to show how it works and what EE is capable of. If you have any ideas for topics of discussion, let me know.

That sounds Great. I would love to make it and February or March would work great (Maybe a weekday evening). I think sometimes the best things are just opening up templates and showing your workflow, especially for those like me who are largely self taught, working as the only developer in their company. Also, discussing what to do when you need to step outside the normal EE setup and really twist EE to do what you need to do.

and really twist EE to do what you need to do.

Sounds interesting. Keep me posted. I’d be interested to see how other people are accomplishing their goals. What kind of experience level are you hoping to target - beginner, advanced, everything in between?

I think our options are Monday or Wednesday nights (to not conflict with any other groups)

I think ideally advanced. There is already a lot of options for learning the basics.

+1 for Advanced. There is a lot on the web for beginners.

Agreed. Would love to see that.

I’d love to attend and advanced topics would be dandy.

My wife’s wonky nurse schedule / childcare keeps me home during the evening ~50% of the time; if you’re able to to arrange it for one of the following days it’d be much appreciated.

    Suggested Mondays: 2/28, 3/14, 3/28
    Suggested Wednesdays: 2/9, 2/16, 3/9, 3/23, 3/30

I’m in Denver, but planning on moving to MPLS next summer - so am definitely interested in hearing more about a Meetup! May have to make a trip back for this if my schedule allows.

Definitely interested. I work evenings, but with enough advance notice should be able to attend.

We have a set date! First meetup will be Wednesday Feb 23rd.

I have a topic in mind to present, but if anyone has anything cool they want to present let me know, otherwise we’ll just eat pizza and talk shop.

    More details to come….
